6. A balloon.

Before and during an intimidating situation, remember to breathe well. Imagine that your belly is a balloon. Slowly, you inflate it, deflate it, inflate it, deflate it… Posture is also important. Without being tense, your shoulders and back are straight. Raise your head, don’t lean forward too much: shy people tend to want to get close to the floor.

7. Imagine the other person…

In an awkward situation, imagine the person you are with naked or in a corner. They will become less intimidating.
